Steve’s School of Motoring top tips when buying your first car

• Choose a car with Low group insurance.
• Apart from saving you money on insurance, smaller engines will be Economical on Fuel.
• Carry out a HPI check to avoid stolen cars or cars still on finance.
• Look at the condition of the car (has it been well cared for), is there any Tax or Mot left to run, what condition are they tyres in?
• Check the service history. How many owners? Does the mileage tie up? Has it been regularly serviced?
